We use this movement for 2 main reasons:
1. to strength the 2 muscles that keep the big toe and the big toe joint on the ground
2. to help increase the stability of the foot
Golden rule: Keep your whole foot on the ground at all times throughout this movement
You should feel it: In the inside of your arch, under the sole of the foot or inside the ankle. You may even feel it in the calf
Tips and tricks: Maintain the height of your arch when you are pressing your big toe down.
